In the middle ages it was already one of the biggest city's in Europe, now it is a metropolis like London and Paris. With almost 3 million inhabitants it is a city that lives! You can find anything you want, even much more. Russia is not far away and some their habits are still alive here. You can buy cigarettes by piece, and at the local markets everybody is selling something. But in the city centre every top brand is represented, unfortunately at top prices. Kiev has not only the structure and culture of a world city, but also the architecture. Baroque style buildings, large avenues and big squares.
This city is definitely a must for those who like to do another kind of city-trips than usual. Come to this lovely city, take the cheap subway, get lost because of the unreadable street names, buy cheap Russian stuff, eat cheap, good & healthy in typical restaurants, and smile to those grumpy waitresses! Besides all that it’s also a very green city. I (Johnny) could easily live here!
