Lilia Dragneva and Lucia Macari started their artistic duo from a serious involvement into sound-and-image experimentation. The duo also created a two-year appropriation project meant to fill in the deficit of information on the 20th century art that Moldova suffers from. The project, called "Kinovari (imitatzia)" called on the artists of Moldova to copy works of art from this period and sign the copies with their names. However, the project was not only limited to copying, but also encouraged experimentation with names, trends and other artistic landmarks.
