Year of Renaissance

2008 is the Year of Renaissance in Hungary. The Renaissance not only is an artistic style, it’s a way of life, it represents discovery and initiative, a philosophy of art, a world view, the spirit of intellectual renewal and innovation, and finally, openness. “Our world has recently underwent changes and therefore we need qualities that are similar to those that made the Renaissance a success. For that reason the "Year of Renaissance - 2008" is not meant to be a capital-based event series: it will be present in Sárospatak, as well as in Sopron and beyond the borders, in museums and at the markets.”
